Isaac Johnson to continue pro career in Latvia!

Rigas Zelli’s post on X welcoming Isaac Johnson to his 1-year deal to play professionally in Latvia.

After splitting his two-game summer series with the Philadelphia 76ers, former Rainbow Warrior Isaac Johnson signed with the Rigas Zelli pro basketball club in Latvia on Wednesday. This will mark Johnson’s first professional season.

Johnson played his lone season for the University of Hawaiʻi Men’s Basketball team in 2025-26 where he averaged over 14 points a game and scored a season-high 25 against Manhattan in UH’s semi-final game in the Outrigger Rainbow Classic in November ‘25.

Johnson was also a key player in UH’s final season in the Big West where UH finished second at 14-6 behind UC Irvine and won the Big West Tournament this past March. He became a fan favorite with his chomping clap after sinking a triple or making a dunk.

During the off-season, Johnson hoped to return to UH and petitioned the NCAA for a fifth season of eligibility, but the NCAA rejected it.

Meanwhile, UH is gearing up for a foreign tour in Australia from August 6-13. They still have one open spot left on their 2026-27 roster, but they do not have to fill it.
