‘Bows pick up Northern Arizona player Zack Davidson!

Zack Davidson

As per KHON2’s Rob DeMello, Zack Davidson has gone from a Lumberjack to a Rainbow Warrior for 2026-27!

Another piece to the puzzle is here!

After 14 games for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in 2025-26, Zack Davidson has left the desert for the islands and became the University of Hawaiʻi’s fourth recruit on Thursday!

Davidson, a redshirt sophomore, averaged 14 points per game in his 14 games at NAU before a foot injury prematurely ended his season!

In those 14 games, nine resulted in double figures, and Davidson scored 20 points or more in four of those.

Despite offers from Saint Mary’s and UC Irvine, Davidson chose the islands. He told other media sources that Hawaiʻi had recruited him out of high school. Davidson was a teammate of Scotty Belnap at Mater Dei before ultimately choosing to go to Montana for his first two seasons and redshirting the 2023-24 season before transferring to NAU.

Davidson joins Marcus Adams Jr. and Jaden Matingou from the portal. Earlier this week, UH also picked up Belnap and Tiger Cuff, the younger brother of Tanner Cuff, after both returned from two-year church missions.

Tanner Cuff and Isaiah Kerr remain the only two returnees from last season’s roster. Aaron Hunkin-Claytor, Isaac Finlinson, Hunter Carter, and A.J. Economou all entered the transfer portal earlier this month. Six seniors also graduated, but Isaac Johnson is still awaiting word from the NCAA for a waiver for a fifth season of eligibility.

My Reaction:

Well, let’s see what Zack Davidson has in his bag of tricks! Averaging 14 points a game is good, and I expect him to make a lot of noise in 2026-27. He may not be a Tanner Christiansen or a Bernardo da Silva, but I always like to be proven wrong. I don’t see him as a consistent lead scorer, but I do see him with a critical role in the post; if he’s got a decent 3-point shooting arm, that’s even better! We’ll need all the help we can get! Show us what you got, Zack!
