The 7-0 Iolani Raiders were not intimidated after their 4-set win over Kamehameha at home on September 12 and defeated the Kamehameha Warriors in four sets again, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, and 25-18, at Kekūhaupiʻo Gym on Thursday!

Georgie Lee had a mind-blowing 23 kills, two blocks, and one ace; Poema Kalama-Kingma had another day at the office with 18 kills and 15 digs in the 4-set win for Iolani! Taimane Ainuʻu added 47 assists herself to go along with nine kills, 11 digs, and an ace!
Sauimoana Purcell led Kamehameha with 13 kills herself! Kealoha Lyins had 12 kills herself!

Iolani controlled the cards in the first set and took an early 9-4 lead off of four unanswered.
Kamehameha responded with five straight, including a Kalena Diaz ace, to tie things up at nine, and again at 10 off an Emilynn Won kill!
Iolani did not falter and surged ahead thanks to kills from Lee and Ainuʻu! A late 7-3 surge put Iolani in the win column in set one, 25-21!

Kamehameha scored three of the first four to begin set two; despite Iolani coming back to tie things up, Kamehameha busted through the dam with an 11-5 run punctuated by a Faith Iokia block to take a 14-8 lead!
Iolani tried to make some runs, but Kamehameha answered the bell every time! An Elle Arceneaux block put Iolani down, 20-18, but Kamehameha responded then!
“I waited on my approach, and very grateful for my setters cause they set really great tonight,” said Won.
A Grace Kott kill forced Iolani to start from scratch, and Kamehameha went on to win set two, 25-20, punctuated by a Won kill!

“It’s hot — we’re in their environment,” said Mary Kate Kawakami. “We had a little bump today, but that’s okay! I’m really proud of our team for finishing!”
Iolani led early in set three, but Kamehameha wrestled the lead away. Despite four ties, a Lee block gave Iolani the lead for good as part of a critical 6-2 run!
Kamehameha responded with a 7-1 run, including a Tiahna Aldeguer ace to take an 18-16 lead!

Iolani’s Kalama-Kingma and Annaura Reid-Gillet went back to work and ignited a critical 9-5 Iolani run to end the third set! Lee executed another kill to win set three for Iolani, 25-23!
Iolani spared Kamehameha the first point to start set four. Lee gave her team the lead back with an ace, 2-1! Lee had back-to-back kills and another ace in a 6-1 run to take a 13-7 lead!
Iolani used another 7-3 run to run away with the 25-18 win. Kawakami ended the game with an ace at match point!

Iolani improves to 8-0 in 2026 and will conclude the regular season against the Mid-Pacific Owls on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. HST.
